What does the program include?
Who is the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for?
Answer: The IOP is designed for individuals who need a higher level of support than traditional outpatient therapy but do not require the 24-hour care of an inpatient or residential program. It is particularly beneficial for:
- Individuals with Mental Health Conditions: Such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, or borderline personality disorder, who need intensive support in managing symptoms.
- People Transitioning from Inpatient Care: Recently discharged individuals who need continued support to prevent relapse and maintain progress.
- Clients Experiencing Emotional or Behavioral Issues: Those struggling with emotional dysregulation, self-harm behaviors, or suicidal ideation.
- Individuals Needing a Structured Program with Flexibility: People who require intensive therapeutic support but need to maintain responsibilities such as work, school, or family obligations.
- Those Who Benefit from Group Therapy and Skill Building: Individuals who thrive in a group setting and want to learn and practice coping skills in a structured environment.
What is the difference between the IOP and the DBT Skills Group?
Answer: The DBT IOP is a higher level intensity program that meets three days a week for 9 hours. The DBT Skills Group is a standalone, once-a-week (1.5hr) group that focuses solely on learning DBT coping skills and is typically for those who need less intensive treatment.
How much does the DBT Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) cost?
Answer: Our DBT IOP has a daily rate of $150, and the Admissions Intake is $200. Clients can self-pay or apply for a CareCredit credit card to pay for services in installments. Unfortunately, insurance is not accepted for the IOP level of care at this time.
Why isn't the program covered by insurance?
Answer: Due to the nature of this level of care, we will not be pursuing in-network status with insurance for the DBT IOP. IOP patients tend to be high need, high risk and often require more than insurance companies are willing to authorize. In order to ensure our patients maintain control of their care our IOP is out-of-network. This allows us to provide individualized attention and a tailored approach that isn’t limited by insurance company constraints. We offer the CareCredit credit card to help clients establish flexible installment payments.
Where is the program located?
Answer: Our DBT IOP is located at 3261 Old Washington Rd STE 2020, Waldorf, MD 20602.
