Jelani Gayle is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor in Maryland and a graduate of the University of Jamestown. Jelani has experience providing individual, couples, and group counseling and supporting clients with neurodivergence and a variety of emotional and behavioral concerns. Jelani incorporates evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy, to help clients better understand their experiences and move toward meaningful change.
Throughout my life, I have developed a genuine passion for helping people recognize their strengths and become the best versions of themselves. I believe that caring for our mental and emotional well-being can help us live more fully, strengthen our relationships, and pursue the goals that matter most to us.
My goal is to create a welcoming, respectful, and judgment-free space where you feel heard and supported. I view therapy as a partnership. You bring your experiences, values, and goals, and I bring compassion, guidance, and evidence-based tools to help you move forward. You will remain at the center of the therapeutic process, and we will work together at a pace that feels comfortable and productive for you.
I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and other therapeutic approaches based on your individual needs. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy can help you recognize and change unhelpful thought patterns, while Narrative Therapy can help you explore the experiences and stories that have shaped how you see yourself and your life. Together, we can identify practical strategies for managing challenges, building confidence, and creating a future that feels more hopeful and fulfilling.
I also recognize that every person’s journey is different. Therapy can be an eye-opening process that requires honesty, courage, and a willingness to explore new possibilities. You do not need to have everything figured out before beginning. Choosing to start therapy simply means you are ready to take the next step toward greater understanding, healing, and personal growth.
I would be honored to support you as you begin this next chapter. Contact True Blue Behavioral Health to schedule a complimentary telephone consultation. Our team looks forward to learning more about you and supporting you on your mental health journey.
